Welcome to the Tisbury Manor Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR). Our chapter was organized in Monson, Maine on November 14, 1952. Tisbury Manor’s first regent, Genevieve Jackson Beckwith, was one of twelve charter members who proved their lineages to Thomas Mayhew, “Lord of the Manor of Tisbury,” hence our chapter’s name.
We serve Maine's Piscataquis County and beyond. Our meetings are held May through November at various locations in the county. Our chapter participates in the NSDAR American History Essay Contest which is open to all grade 5, 6, 7, and 8 students in our schools. We hold an annual Veterans Day observance in Monson. We help maintain the local gravesites of Revolutionary War veterans. We support our troops with collections of necessities and treats to send overseas. We support our local school libraries with donations of history books. Constitution Week in September is observed by special programs. Our chapter supports the objectives of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution: historical, educational, and patriotic.
Join us as we honor our Revolutionary War veterans. Do you have an eligible ancestor? Contact one of our DAR members, and we will work with you to find out.
